Epithelial cells are constantly subjected to various mechanical cues, which play a crucial role in
regulating cell and tissue functions. In this study, the focus is on analyzing how epithelial tissue responds
to mechanical stretches, specifically investigating morphological changes at the cellular level.
As a student assistant, your primary role will be to analyze large datasets generated from
experimental observations using advanced computational methods.
Tasks:
▪ Process and analyze large datasets of microscopy images of cell and nuclei using advanced
computational techniques.
▪ Develop and optimize code (Python, MATLAB, or similar) to automate data processing and
analysis tasks.
▪ Work with an iterative cloud point registration tool to quantify changes due to mechanical stretch.
Requirements:
▪ Experience in coding and scripting (preferably Python/MATLAB).
▪ Experience or interest in machine learning/AI
▪ Familiarity with data analysis techniques and algorithms
▪ Enthusiasm for interdisciplinary research at the intersection of physics, biology, and computation
